Optical Prisms
An optical prism has flat surfaces which refract light. These surfaces are highly polished, and the angles between them, the number of surfaces, and the position of them determine the function of the prism.
We produce a wide range of prism types to meet UV-Visible-NIR applications, with high surface quality and tight tolerance angles. Substrate options include all kinds of optical glass, optical crystal and laser crystal from UV, VIS to IR.
Material recommendations for different applications:
When working with wavelengths as low as 175nm and requiring low thermal expansion, Fused silica is the ideal choice. Its exceptional stability allows for tighter tolerance control.
For applications involving visible and NIR wavelengths, N-BK7 or CDGM H-K9L are both suitable and cost-effective options.
When dealing with infrared wavelengths, ZnSe and Germanium are the preferred materials to consider, offering excellent performance in this range.
If your application covers a wide transmission range from 0.18μm to 8μm, Calcium fluoride is the best choice. It provides a relatively wide transmittance range, making it the optimal material for such applications.
